The Schleich figurines are exceptionally detailed, lovingly painted and allow children to play and learn at the same time. The Pteranodon was one of the largest pterosaurs in the Cretaceous period. The striking bony crest on the rear of its head provided a counterweight to its long beak. It probably didnÕt flap its wings very often, but instead took advantage of the wind to glide through the air Ð similar to an albatross.
