The mighty Cape Buffalo raises it’s head and sniffs the air. With it’s black muzzle, it can sniff out exactly whether strangers are approaching the herd. The buffalo finds it hard to decide – can they keep on grazing or is an enemy closing in? If a strange buffalo tries to approach the herd, it doesn’t miss a beat. At a gallop, he charges the uninvited guest, stopping just short of the stranger and lowers it’s big head. It snorts angrily, pawing at the ground. It’s huge horns look so impressive that most intruders will trot off right away. All the better!
Best not get into a fight! Most of the timethis buffalo is quite peaceful. Then it grazes at a leisurely pace, just enjoying it’s life on the African savannah.
