Turkeys are part of the pheasant family and are originally from North America. The male birds have black plumage with individual metallic shimmering colourful feathers. The head and neck are featherless and coloured bright red and light blue. When male turkeys compete for females during mating season they spread their tail feathers out like a fan, as shown by the turkey from the Schleich¨ Farm World.
Fun Fact: Turkeys feed on seeds, berries, nuts and tree buds.
